Workers Compensation and Employers Liability Coverage insures against claims for work-related injuries or diseases suffered by employees that can be compensated by statute and/or imposed by law as damages. A policy is written to conform to Federal and State law and pays benefits to an employee (or an employee’s family). Coverage includes medical expenses and a portion of lost wages. Statutory limits are typically $100,000 per Accident, $500,000 Disease Policy Limit and $100,000 Disease Limit per Employee. Higher limits up to $1,000,000 can be purchased.
